EC 1 for David Lynch
The first power plant in Łódź made up of two parts (EC1 Wschód, started in 1907, and EC1 Zachód, built in the time between the two World Wars), was later changed into a plant that produced both heat and electricity which the people of Łódź used until the early 2000s. Revamping the historical structure in the New Center of Lodz began in 2008.
Today, it is home to Poland's most advanced planetarium, the National Center for Film Culture, and the Center for Comics and Interactive Narration. It also has rooms for meetings and events, including the largest Art Nouveau Machine Hall measuring 1,360 square meters.
